Lightwork was born from the wide variety of recruiting experiences of Founder, Lumen Sivitz.

His background — leading Recruiting for Kleiner Perkins-backed Shyp and for global advertising technology company, Quantcast, as well as founding Mighty Spring, an early talent marketplace — made for an ideal set of experiences to share with other early-stage startups.

His first consulting client was Y-Combinator’s Clara Labs, where he coached the founding team on recruiting best practices and worked as an embedded recruiting resource to help the company hire after raising their Series A. This mutually positive experience led to a host of referral business and evolving scopes of work for Lumen, inspiring him to formalize the consulting practice by launching Lightwork.
